FAQ

About St. Louis School:

Catholic elementary schools welcome students who seek a faith-based education rooted in Catholic values. Eligibility for enrollment is generally based on the following criteria:

Catholic Families – Priority is given to children who have been baptized in the Catholic faith. Parents/guardians may be required to provide a baptismal certificate or other documentation of Catholic sacraments.

Non-Catholic Families – Many Catholic schools accept non-Catholic students, provided they respect and participate in the school’s religious curriculum and activities. Admission may be subject to available space and school policies.

Publicly Funded Catholic Schools (where applicable) – In jurisdictions such as Ontario, publicly funded Catholic schools may require at least one parent to be a baptized Catholic to guarantee admission. Proof of Catholicity, such as a baptismal certificate, may be required.

Parish Affiliation – Some schools may give preference to families who are active members of a local Catholic parish.

Residency and Citizenship – Applicants may need to meet residency requirements as determined by the school or school board. Documentation such as proof of address or legal residency may be required.

Academic and Behavioral Expectations – All students, regardless of religious background, are expected to adhere to the academic and behavioral standards set by the school, including participation in religious instruction and activities.

Final admission decisions are made at the discretion of the school administration, in accordance with diocesan policies and local education regulations.
