About Us

A Pre-K - Grade 8 school one of many ministries that Our Parish supports

"By maintaining a sound system of education and upbringing you produce citizens of good character: and citizens of sound character, with the advantage of a good education, produce in turn children better than themselves and better able to produce still better children in their turn…"

- The Republic, Plato

Working Together...

Our Pre-K through Grade 8 school is owned and operated by Holy Family Parish and is a partnership of parents, faculty, staff and parish all working together as a team to provide the highest quality education for our children.

As a Catholic school, faith in Jesus Christ is at the heart of who we are, what we do, and how we teach our students. We emphasize faith as an integral component of learning regardless of the subject being taught. We follow the Archdiocese of Cincinnati guidelines as well as including the Graded Course of Study (GSC) program used in Catholic elementary schools throughout the Archdiocese.

Besides an excellent religious formation, we value and stress academics. In addition, we keep pace in terms of technology and services: computers, smart boards, etc. Our goal is to produce well-rounded individuals who are equipped to succeed in the next level of education.

School History

As more and more Catholics came into the eastern Clermont County area the need for another church became evident. In 1856 our St. Louis Church was established and has been thriving ever since. We proudly celebrated our Sesquicentennial in 2006, and as of 2022, are one of four Parishes that comprise Holy Family Parish.

The early parishioners knew that a school dedicated to the Catholic Faith was in order. St. Louis School was founded in 1957 by Ursuline Sisters. St. Louis was built on sacrifice and commitment to excellence, serving as a cornerstone of Catholic Education in Owensville, Ohio. Those early days had smaller classes, but enrollment grew steadily over the years. Many of our current students are children and grandchildren of St. Louis School Alumni.

Parents and parishioners rose to the occasion with fundraising and teamwork when an addition was needed. Our parish hall/gymnasium was added in 1986. This addition allowed us to host larger events including: all school/family Advent liturgy musicals, onstage plays and choir shows, CYO sporting events in basketball and volleyball and more.

As time passed the families realized that another expansion was on the horizon. Our school and church went through upgrades and additions in 2004. The new school wing is enjoyed by our middle school students and the church now has a large meeting room, kitchenette, basement Youth Room and offices.

We are proud of our partnership between parents, teachers, and students. This caring relationship between the families and faculty creates a positive atmosphere for our children. St. Louis School welcomes students of any race, color, religion, and national or ethnic origin.

Philosophy of Education

St. Louis, a parochial school in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, recognizes and supports the importance of parents as the primary influence in a child’s religious education. The education of our children grows from faith in Jesus Christ and a connection to various parish communities to which our children belong. We believe in emphasizing the development of the whole person and recognizing the dignity, abilities, and gifts of every child. Academic excellence is stressed in all curriculum areas.
