EdChoice Scholarship Information
New! EdChoice Scholarship Estimator
The state of Ohio has updated their income limitations for 2024-2025. Every family qualifies for at least $616.80 per child per year for elementary school. Most families receive much more.
Most families will qualify for $6166 per year for each child in K-8. Every family who wants a state scholarship or a parish scholarship must apply for the EdChoice scholarship first.
Here are the important points and your “to do” list to claim scholarship dollars for your student(s):
- The value of the scholarship is dependent upon your Adjusted Gross Income, but EVERY student is eligible for at least $616.80. See the Income Chart below. (Your AGI is item 11 on your Income Tax Form.)
- Scholarships are awarded only to those who apply and are approved. To apply, submit the appropriate paperwork directly to St. Louis (or email the documents directly to haungs.alysha@stlouischool.org) and verify your income on the ODE portal.
- The scholarship can only be used to pay tuition. Parents and/or guardians may have to pay registration fees, material fees and other similar types of fees.
- Awards are sent directly to the school, but not until everything has been verified. For new applicants, expect to make regular tuition payments until your award is approved. Our business office will make adjustments as awards come through.
- For new applicants, be sure to apply before October 14. After that date, your award will be prorated to the number of days remaining in the school year.
To Do List
Step 1: EdChoice Request Form
Complete an EdChoice Request Form (link above) for the 2024-2025 school year. You can email your completed form (one per student) to haungs.alysha@stlouischool.org, or drop it off to the school office from 10 am – 2 pm. However you submit the form, also include
Step 2: Verification of your Address
The simplest and most reliable way to submit proof of your address is to give the school office a statement from one of your utilities (not cell phone). The statement must show your address in two places – in the “service to” space and in the “mail to” space. For example, on a Duke Energy statement, the “mail to” space is at the bottom of the statement and “service to” space is on the top right. Most utilities allow you to see your most recent statement online. You are welcome to email Alysha this statement, send a hard copy with your request form, or drop it off to the office. If you do not have a utility in your name at your mailing address, there are other ways to verify your address. A complete list of options can be found above in the Ed Choice Proof of Address Guidelines.
Step 3: Birth Certificate
Please bring a copy of each child’s birth certificate.
The above documents are scanned and uploaded by the school to the ODE portal to EdChoice, along with some school-related documents. Do not attempt to mail them directly to ODE.
Step 4: Adjusted Gross Income
